Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC is excited to announce the launch of our new International Tax Practice and opening of our Miami office. This strategic expansion offers the Firm greater scale and depth while increasing our ability to respond to the evolving needs of our clients with a keen understanding of foreign tax regulations and cross-border transactions. Along with this new area of expertise, we welcome two new leaders: Fernando R. Lopez as International Tax Partner and Ricardo Aramburo Williams as International Tax Principal and Director of Latin American Services.
"We are thrilled to tap into Fernando and Ricardo’s experience in international tax to empower our clients’ transformative, international growth and accelerate the growth of own practice," said Jeffery Mowery, Managing Partner. “In the prior decade, we have experienced an increase in US inbound business clients. Couple this with a rise in manufacturing returning to North America to mitigate supply chain and socioeconomic challenges, we believe this new service line—led by Fernando and Ricardo—will be a critical piece of the future M&S.”
Fernando R. Lopez comes with decades of experience in various roles at international CPA Firms, including serving on the leadership team and in senior management. He specializes in providing International Tax services to his clients, including cross-border tax planning and structuring. Fernando has published several articles on international taxation, is a Peace Corps volunteer, and enjoys traveling with his family.
Ricardo Aramburo Williams brings nearly 20 years of professional experience, including serving as partner and services leader at international firms. He specializes in guiding his clients through the complexities that arise from doing business internationally. Ricardo is the Latin America Chairperson of the International Taxation Practice Group of GGI. He is also a member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America and of the Global Ambassador Program of the Northwestern Alumni Association. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
In their new roles, Lopez and Aramburo Williams will advise our clients on international tax planning and relevant tax jurisdiction laws, rules, and regulations. They will be responsible for the leadership of the newly formed international tax team. Lopez and Aramburo Williams look to deliver inbound and outbound tax insights and strategies to help business clients meet financial objectives with the ability to offer additional tax, audit, accounting, technology, succession planning, transaction and business advisory, trust, family office, and wealth services.
“We understand the value of widening access to new markets and diversification, especially in Latin America, a critical market for business clients,” said Aramburo Williams.
“For these growth-minded organizations looking to expand their business internationally, M&S International will offer pathways to help them gain a competitive advantage,” said Lopez.
