Ian Hanke

When working on tax engagements, Ian never loses focus of his clients’ best financial interest. Ian joined our tax team in November 2013. He specializes in meeting the state and local taxation needs of our business tax clients. Ian leads our on-campus recruiting activities.

Ian holds a Bachelor and Master of Accountancy, as well as a Master of Taxation from Northern Illinois University.

Outside of work, Ian likes to stay active. Sports, running, and traveling are his favorite ways to maintain his active lifestyle.

What is your philosophy as it relates to your job?

Work very hard and try to do the best that you can. Mistakes will happen, but you have to learn from them.

What is your hidden talent?

This isn’t really a hidden talent, but when I was 21, I jumped off the first airplane i was ever on…while it was 14,000 feet above the ground!

In your own words, what’s different about Mowery & Schoenfeld?

The people and culture. Everyone here is a professional, but we still find time during the day to have a good time and laugh. We are also a very forward-looking public accounting firm, always investing in new software and tools for our staff.
