Meet Mike

When Mike’s clients are faced with complex tax and planning issues, they know better than to be overwhelmed; instead, they sleep soundly at night knowing that he will help them navigate through the complexities at hand.

Mike specializes in advising high net worth families on their tax, retirement, charitable, estate, gift, and trust planning needs, as well as working with family business owners to facilitate transferring their businesses to the next generations. Taking a holistic approach, he works closely with his clients’ other advisors to develop and implement tax minimization strategies, as well as to set and achieve the short and long term financial goals of his clients.

With a knack for establishing order and developing smooth processes, Mike uses his talents in his role as the Director of Taxes to continually improve the tax department.  He also acts as a career advisor, taking his duty to empower his staff to succeed in setting and accomplishing their career ambitions very seriously.

Mike spends the majority of his free time with his wife, daughter, and son enjoying the outdoors in the summer and movies in the winter. He also looks forward to baseball and golf; he and his family root for the Cubs at a few games a year, and he never misses his annual golf course “bucket list” outing with his twin brother.

In your own words, what’s different about Mowery & Schoenfeld?

Our people and our culture. We hire based on the person not just the resume, because we understand the benefit of well-rounded professional staff. We promote, engage and empower our team members to be the best they can be and the end result is excellent client service.

What is your philosophy as it relates to your job?

If you put your clients first and your team a close second, everything else will fall into place.
